  • T’ruah Recognized in Slingshot ‘Innovation’ Guide

    June 4, 2018

T’ruah “has created a group of rabbinic leaders who lead both rituals and rallies, and the Jewish community is stronger for it,” the Guide notes, explaining its decision to select us from among hundreds of finalists.

  • Trump’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ Policy Separating Immigrant Families Is Cruel, Inhumane and Immoral

    May 29, 2018

America must not fail to hear the cries of the children at our border. The “zero tolerance” approach to immigration isn’t just inhumane and immoral; it is also bad policy.

  • T’ruah Statement on Escalation of Violence on Gaza-Israel Border

    May 29, 2018

The Hamas government shares significant blame for the situation in Gaza, as a result of its repression, corruption, terrorism, and continued violent rejection of the existence of Israel. So does Egypt, which has largely closed its border with Gaza. However, Israel, which continues to control Gaza’s borders, air space, and population registry more than a decade after the official disengagement, maintains the greatest responsibility for the humanitarian crisis there, and has the greatest power to ease it.

    May 24, 2018

All people, regardless of political views, deserve privacy. Israel certainly has a right to defend its...

  • T’ruah Mourns Rabbi Aaron Panken

    May 7, 2018

T’ruah mourns the tragic loss of Rabbi Aaron Panken. As president of the Reform movement’s Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, Rabbi Panken was a mentor and role model to many of our rabbis and clergy, and a constant supporter of HUC students taking part in T’ruah programs. Rabbi Panken was a brilliant scholar, a...

  • T’ruah Calls On Netanyahu to Pursue a Humane, Long-Term Solution For Asylum Seekers

    April 27, 2018

The cancellation of the deportation is the result of hundreds of thousands of Israelis and Jews around the world standing up to insist that Israel fulfill its responsibility toward those fleeing torture, slavery, and war. These activists included the 1,000 T’ruah rabbis who wrote to Netanyahu demanding that he stop the deportations, and the rabbis who delivered letters to 10 embassies and consulates in the United States and Canada
