We may be working from home right now, but we’re still working hard to shine a light on the injustices faced by vulnerable individuals, to learn with the T’ruah community, and to lead you in meaningful virtual actions. T’ruah Digital offers multiple opportunities to learn and take action every week.
Over the last few years, the label of antisemitism has been deployed by political leaders seeking to create divisions and exploit them for their own power, particularly in the context of Israel and Zionism. For example, the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) “working definition of antisemitism,” has been used in creating policy, which was never the intention of its author. Meanwhile, the new Nexus definition and the Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism (JDA) offer different perspectives and help generate a deeper, more complex discussion on the nature of antisemitism and proper ways of confronting it.
On April 9 at 1pm ET, Americans for Peace Now will host a conversation between Hadar Susskind, T’ruah’s own Rabbi Jill Jacobs, and Lara Friedman, on these differing definitions of antisemitism. The webinar will be moderated by Hadar Susskind, the President and CEO of Americans for Peace Now.
