T’ruah’s growth over the last 20 years is intertwined with the events of September 11, 2001. We asked three writers who represent three “generations” of T’ruah leadership — Rabbi Gerry Serotta (founding), Rabbi Rachel Kahn-Troster (maturation), and rabbinical student Becky Jaye (future) — to reflect on the 20th anniversary of the attacks. As 9/11 recedes into the past, we may look at it from different angles and find meaning in different aspects of the events of that day and its aftermath, but it remains very much relevant.

A note for rabbis: We know you will be kept busy with preparation for your High Holiday sermons. We hope this resource proves useful as you plan for Shabbat Shuvah. Use it as a text study or as the basis for a sermon.
