Dear Chaverim,
We are hoping to collect your sermons and divrei Torah about Israel and Palestine that rabbis in the chaverim network will be sharing with their communities over the High Holidays.
The idea is twofold: first, to give us an opportunity to learn from and inspire one another as we think about how to speak about Israel during this particularly difficult and complicated moment; and second, to help us get a better sense of the range of messages and approaches that rabbis in our community are bringing to their congregants.
If you are giving a sermon, d’var Torah, or other substantial High Holiday teaching that addresses Israel/Palestine, I’d be grateful if you would send it to me through this form before October 5th. Almost finished drafts are completely welcome—you don’t need to wait until after the holidays!
I’ll compile the submissions and share them back with the group after Simchat Torah so that we can learn from one another. Even if you don’t want your sermon to be shared, I would still be grateful if you shared it with us!
Thanks in advance for contributing—and for all the work that goes into preparing for this holy season.
Chodesh Tov,
Jonah
