It is an extremely difficult and heartbreaking time. On Wednesday, December 20 at 12:00 pm, come share space with the chaverim community at Temple Shalom in Newton (175 Temple St, West Newton). Lunch will be provided.
In addition providing one another with mutual support, we will open a conversation about T’ruah’s role in framing current events, in the context of a very broken discourse about Israel/Palestine. We will explore what we are hearing, the problems in that discourse, and what we would like to hear and say. What could a “beyond the binary” conversation – one that holds nuances and the suffering of Israelis and Palestinians without the need to compare or diminish either – look like? What discourse will best serve us going forward in the difficult and complex months ahead?
