We know that being in coalition is a practice, not a structure. Joining, maintaining, and working within coalitions is a critical part of building collective power and winning progressive victories. It is also an essential part of keeping our communities and our neighbors’ communities safe.
We are committed to staying in coalition with groups working toward shared campaign goals, including ending mass incarceration; fighting for immigration and worker justice; stopping racism and antisemitism; and defending democracy and free speech.
We know that not all the organizations we work with will share our political vision, strategy, or language. We do not expect or demand agreement on all issues. We are committed to remaining in coalition with those who may not share our perspectives on every issue, but with whom we share values.
We are committed to staying in conversation when challenges arise. We are committed to staying in coalition across difference in order to build a more just world.
