T’ruah joins our colleagues in Massachusetts and around the world in mourning the untimely loss of Ezra Schwartz z”l, who was killed yesterday in a terror attack in Gush Etzion. No political motive justifies the murder of an innocent teenager.
Ezra, age 18, was in the middle of a gap-year program based in Beit Shemesh. We have been moved by the stories that teachers and friends have shared about Ezra’s kindness, love of learning, generosity, sense of humor, and sweetness. The entire Jewish community and the world is poorer for his loss.
We send our deepest condolences to Ezra’s parents, Ari and Ruth, his four siblings, and all who knew and loved Ezra. May the entire Jewish community of Sharon, Massachusetts be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may Ezra’s memory forever be a blessing.
