While the number of people fleeing persecution and conflict continues to grow, fewer than 1% of refugees can access resettlement. Join T’ruah as we host speakers from HIAS to tell us about their Welcome Corps: a program where a private sponsorship initiative developed by the U.S. government to expand their capacity to resettle refugees.
Along with ~5-8 members of your community, your synagogue could welcome a refugee or refugee family into your community. Your team would work together to provide financial, resettlement, and emotional support to newcomers for a few months until they reach self-sufficiency.
