Jumping into a first position after ordination and then immediately tackling the chagim can feel like a whirlwind. Though many of us say, “I can rest once I get to Cheshvan,” the reality is new challenges appear daily, whether you have been thrust into supervisorial positions or placed under another individual’s instruction. In the midst of these challenges, you may wish you had more tools for problem solving and miss the collegiality of seminary.
T’ruah is here to help you connect with new colleagues while also gaining tools for how to navigate the various situations we face as rabbis, cantors, and other Jewish clergy.
Join us—Sarah Novick (Director of Organizing) and Rabbi Matt Dreffin (Manager of Rabbinic Education)—for an hour dedicated to new clergy, on Thursday, November 2 at 12:00 p.m. ET. We will take some time to get to know each other, explore tools and skills that will be useful for the beginning (and entirety) of your career paths, and hopefully leave everyone feeling supported for next steps.
What you can expect to gain from our time together is:
- Connections with colleagues
- Insights into interpersonal power dynamics
- Tools for problem solving in your workplace, including understanding Bolman and Deal’s Four Frames Model
- Information on how you can be involved with T’ruah (and how T’ruah can support you)
