Amid a deadly crisis at Rikers, the Board of Correction Chair has carried out a series of alarming actions. From removing the longest serving BOC members from the death investigation committee and forcibly removing our partner Chaplain Dr. Victoria Phillips from a BOC hearing to severely limiting community member participation at hearings, Chair Dwayne Sampson has alarmed advocates and community partners.
In light of these actions, please join us with our partners at the HALT Solitary Coalition and Jails Action Committee on June 13 at 12:00 P.M. in Foley Square to call for Board Chair Sampson’s resignation.
