Faith Matters Network is an innovative organization centered on womanist wisdom that accompanies spiritually grounded leaders in their journey to heal themselves and their communities. Faith Matters Network’s Director of Movement Chaplaincy, Rev. Dr. Danie Buhuro, will enlighten members in our Chaverim Network about how Movement Chaplaincy is more than just providing spiritual, emotional, and relational support to people and communities engaged in social justice movements. Movement chaplains commit to personal practices of spirit, self-care, and healing in community.
Participants will find four foundational principles of Movement Chaplaincy apply to their lives as Jewish clergy regardless of their job or location. The four sessions will each take a look at being: responsive, relational, relevant, and resourced. During our time we will not only learn with Rev. Dr. Buhuro, but we will also gain access to insights and resources we may not have encountered before. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of what it means to be a pastoral presence to all humans and how to have a multi-faith approach to social justice advocacy.
We will spend four synchronous sessions together. We will meet at 12:00 PM ET for 90 minutes on the following Thursday dates:
- March 7, 2024
- April 4, 2024
- May 2, 2024
- June 6, 2024
Participants will also get assigned chevruta partners to meet with in-between synchronous sessions.
Pricing: $36 for members of our chaverim network
