Join T’ruah for a special virtual film screening of the new, critically acclaimed film “Holding Liat,” offered for free for T’ruah rabbis and cantors. Through this special program, the film will be available to stream at home for a limited time on the Kinema platform between July 9-14. You will then have the opportunity to attend a live discussion (via zoom) with the filmmakers and T’ruah CEO Rabbi Jill Jacobs, led by Libby Lenkinski, founding president of Albi. The film will then become available for the first time on Kinema so that you can host in-person screenings and discussions in your congregation and community.
“Holding Liat” won the Best Documentary Award at the Berlin Film Festival, was an official selection in more than 75 film festivals internationally, broadcast on BBC Storyville, selected as one of the Washington Post’s Top 10 Films of the Year and one of the Guardian UK’s top films of 2025, and was recently Shortlisted for the 2026 Academy Awards for Best Documentary. Over the course of more than 200 screenings worldwide, “Holding Liat” has provided a unique ability to hold space for meaningful conversation, connection, and understanding across audiences of different backgrounds.

July 14 from 2:00 -3:00 pm ET: Live virtual Q&A featuring filmmakers Brandon & Lance Kramer and Rabbi Jill Jacobs. Moderated by Libby Lenkinski.
