As Jewish clergy, we often feel called to speak about Israel on the High Holidays—and as progressives, we often find ourselves not quite knowing what to say. We may feel a little stuck. The Progressive Israel Network (10 organizations, including T’ruah) offers these writing prompts in the hope of helping us get un-stuck. And since Rabbi Amy Eilberg teaches in From Enemy to Friend: Jewish Wisdom and the Pursuit of Peace that the experience of authentic human connection can help us move past traumatic historical memory, we also offer four stories of real people in Israel making or experiencing change for the better.
